The Cutest Little Baby Face
I had the pleasure of babysitting this sweetheart (Macey..you may remember her two month pictures from June) two days this week.
The first day, was pretty much all day. I still can't figure out how women have babies and never have more than two arms!
Yesterday, however, was just for a couple of hours. I got out the camera and snapped a few pictures before it was nap time.

Anna Elizabeth
Jodi asked me a while back if I'd take pictures at her shower. At that time, we knew that she and Douglas would be adopting a baby, but we did not know if it would be a boy or a girl, or exactly when the due date was. At this point, Jodi was so apprehensive still about the uncertainity that she would hardly speak of a shower in certain terms. She was careful to guard herself. Knowing all the heartbreak she has been through, it was easy to understand.
If you know Jodi, you know that she loves order. She's just one of those people who always has it together and works well with a plan and a schedule. After all of this, I believe God reminded Jodi that He is in control, and He has a plan. He knew the desires of her heart, and in His time He fulfilled her greatest wish. We are all so thankful that His perfect plan included this miracle of life for Jodi and Douglas.
Jodi and Douglas have waited a long time to become parents. I think that Jodi has probably longed even more so to be a mother. I can't even begin to describe how thrilled we all are to see her hold her daughter in her arms.
Anna is truly a beautiful baby. She is perfect in every way.
Congratulations, Douglas and Jodi, on your precious daughter. I look forward to watching her grow. I know, with parents like you two, she will be an amazing person!

Scenic Route Surprise!
I finished scrapbooking Bobby's 30th birthday (back in April of this year). I used Scenic Route's Surprise collection. I love the bright colors!
This is a layout of Bobby opening his presents from me. One was a salt water fishing trip and the other was a trip to TN to see Chuck Missler (we ended up opting out of that one to spend the day bass fishing).
This was taken a little later the same day when Bobby's parents surprised him with a gun for his birthday. Bobby's parents came over for dinner to celebrate the big 3-0, and I picked up two small cakes from Corner Market so that he could blow out the candles on his big day. What Bobby didn't know, was that Saturday night I had a surprise party planned for him. He thought we would just be going over for dinner at his parents house with his grandma and sister and brother law. I surpised him by inviting six of our friends over. This layout is of his cake made by Jody's Bakery. The last two layouts are of the gang yelling, "Surprise!" and of us hanging out back at our house later that night.

What is THIS? RAIN???
You know you're getting old when you become concerned about the weather. Our last day of school was May 22nd. I know, for a fact, that from that day until July 4th we did not have a DROP of rain at our house! That's OVER a month without rain!
However, that all changed Saturday! Bobby was outside getting somethings ready for a cookout with our friends, when he comes in to tell me to, "come quick, and look outside!" All day it had been cloudy, but we've had threatening clouds before that never let loose any sort of moisture.
Sure enough, I get outside and its...RAIN RAIN GLORIOUS RAIN! Our grass is dying, the tomatoes didn't do so well this year, the ants are about to carry us away...all because of the lack of rain.

Basic Grey Marrakech Day
Finally did some scrapbooking today, and I used all Basic Grey Marrakech products. I really feel like I'm drowning in all of my Basic Grey yumminess, so I decided to get busy, and start scrapping with it!
This is a layout of my husband taken at the St. Louis Cathedral Museum in New Orleans.
This is little Duffy. "The Cutest Lil Pup Face"

"A Pawfect Love"
This is my husband and myself waiting for a table outside of Acme Oyster house in New Orleans (formerly one of our favorite places to eat when we are in town)
So, I've made a good dent in my Marrakech stash! AND I learned how to spell Marrakech...even if I can't SAY it! LOL!

Corn Cooking Crazy
I love fresh vegetables in the summer. Have I mentioned that already? Last night, we had fried squash and corn on the cob for supper. Who needs meat?
My mother in law taught us a simple and quick way to cook fresh corn on the cob. You place the ears in the microwave (I suggest no more than two at a time) left completely in their husks. Run the microwave for 2 minutes per ear of corn.
Remove the corn, and shuck. The husks and silks will come off very easily after microwaving.
If you try this, let me know. We love it this way, and have been enjoying LOTS of fresh corn!
Happy Hump Day!
